CZ DUTY 4.0 C

About this product
Slides and barrels fill most of our catalog, which makes a pistol that arrives with both already fitted an easy thing to explain. CZ's DUTY 4.0 is a new-generation striker-fired 9mm with a serialized internal chassis, a modular fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame, a 4-inch barrel without threads and fixed sights. The slide is cut for a direct-mount red dot, and CZ's own photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield optics on it.
Pick the C compact for 15+1 and a 135 mm height, or the F full-size for 17+1 and 143 mm; either gains two rounds with the extended base plate. Add MS to the model and you get a manual thumb safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. The refined SFDA trigger is rated at 25±4 N with a 4 mm reset and 9±1 mm of travel. Overall length is 188 mm, width 33 mm, and CZ's suggested price is $729.
CZ built the DUTY around a serialized chassis that the polymer polymer grip wraps around, the same idea that lets a owner change frame size without buying a new serialized gun. The trigger is a refined SFDA striker unit, 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) pull, 0.16 in (4 mm) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel. The slide takes optics by direct mounting; CZ's product photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield units in place. Sights are fixed, the 4-inch barrel is not threaded.
Pick the C when the gun has to disappear under a cover garment. It gives up two rounds to the full-size model (15+1 against 17+1) and about 8 mm of grip height, and in return it is 5.3 in (135 mm) tall and 27.2 oz (770 g) light.
The standard model skips the manual thumb safety and keeps the three passive ones: firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger-bar safety. Same chassis, same trigger and slide as the MS; only the lever is missing.
Best fit: concealed carry where your state allows it, home defense, and range time that does not need a full-size grip. Shooters coming from a CZ 75 will recognize the grip angle; owners coming from any other striker gun will notice the trigger first.
Parts ship to your door; a complete pistol does not. When you order the DUTY 4.0, choose the FFL dealer who will receive it, and we send it there with tracking. The dealer completes the transfer paperwork and applies the rules of your state at pickup. Pick a dealer who takes transfers and have their details ready before you check out.

Frequently asked questions
- Do the slides on this site fit the DUTY 4.0?
- No. Our slide listings name the Polymer80 frames and Gen 3 patterns they fit; the DUTY 4.0 comes with its own CZ slide and barrel installed.
- Is the barrel threaded?
- No, the 4-inch barrel on every current model is unthreaded.
- Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines?
- CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an extended base plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
- Is the compact easy to shoot?
- It shares the 4-inch barrel and slide with the full-size gun, so the sight radius is the same. Only the grip is shorter.
